Program Summary
The SEO (Social Entrepreneur Organization) and YSO (Youth Service Organization) are frameworks for social entrepreneurial incubation, acceleration, and the model for focused business innovation and development. The frameworks are designed to initiate and accelerate the start-up, growth and sustainability for social entrepreneurs and their organizations through education, support services, investment and management thereby enabling them to succeed and remain sustainable over a long period of time.
Big Syster is a system and environment for human services and care that includes the incorporation of education, community building and technology. The Big Syster project is a collaboration between various stakeholders and interested parties concerned with Education, Economic Development, Civic Infrastructure, Human, Community and Social services with a focus on the youth. The nature of this project encompasses social & civic engagement, government, education, artificial intelligence, big data, IoT (The internet of things), social & behavioral sciences and technologies.
The purpose of the SEO is not in creating a program but in creating and forming systems of community response with guaranteed outcomes, by agreed community participation with the primary focus to develop social entrepreneurs who produce service businesses that provide health, social and educational services. This is accomplished with a dynamic asset mapping program.
The organization partnerships are based on the necessity of direct and creative socially based capital interventions, with the goal to improve life and opportunities for all people especially certain groups of disadvantaged persons. Fostering economic independence by access to advanced education and mentorship.
Tapping into the innovation culture – The innovation generation.
Central to our thinking is the belief that the best ideas for transforming any community, town, city or state, comes from innovative thinkers and entrepreneurs in our local community, the people who live, breathe, work and play in the many neighborhoods of America.
Mission We will develop a platform for the identification and implementation of innovative social solutions, including the establishing of small social service companies
Vision To develop social entrepreneurs who produce service businesses that provide health, social and educational services specifically focused on youth and youth at risk.
i3 Philosophy All our actions are guided by the principles of incubate, innovate, invest for Social impact, Sustainable economies, and Scalable solutions
Principles and Values • Equality
• Economic Sustainability- we implement initiatives that are based upon medium and long term financing support and training / education in order to be able to attract valuable human resources and to supply social services of highest quality
Depending on the business, founders need help fine-tuning their plan, hiring quality employees, figuring out the best way to market, creating their technology platform, reviewing customers and much more. But unlike other startups, enterprises based on social / human services also have to wrestle with issues that include determining how to measure the success of their non-financial goals. Service providers are being mandated to grow and function in a much wider capacity as coordinators of local services and as developers of new support programs and services as dictated by the community and county they are physically located.
That’s why it’s so important to have incubators and accelerators catering to the special needs of social enterprises. With the advent of many new incubators focused technology none of them, however, are remotely useful for the mission-driven company with all those other concerns–and little chance of garnering the type of returns typical of the usual venture-incubator accelerated tech firm.
The SEO is an incubator and accelerator designed to include co-working space both physical and virtual. We provide a complete industry compliant infrastructure and services specifically nurtured and designated to supply an environment tuned to produce successful long term agencies.
This environment is based of the GBI 10 Smart Team Concept as outlined in the GBI Series-1024 standard for business incubation infrastructure, service center and support hub (Q3:BI1024 Business Incubation Standards Framework). These teams include Finance, Image Dev, Real Estate, Advertising / PR, Printing/Publishing, Insurance/Leasing, Marketing Research, Communications, Technology/Information Systems, and Management. Service and support within our infrastructure can be continued after startup and development based on partner level.
Big Syster is based on developing a system of care and support for youth that purposes to integrate technology, innovation, education and other tools to create a system of care that produces youth that are equipped with the necessary skillsets for success in life.
The Big Syster YSO is a business incubation and accelerator project between Global Business Incubation, Inc. (GBI), Pennacle IEMC ( both private non-profit 501(c)(3) corporations), CCR and Associates and ECI Networks LLC built specifically to support and develop young entrepreneurs in social work and technology sectors
This incubator has a technology and resource infrastructure that provides a mix of business services, systems, labs and practices to support start-up and small businesses in the commercialization of their products and services to the global marketplace.
Recognizing the need for a comprehensive infrastructure, the SEO works proactively with the private sector, through the strategic alliances formed with public-private organizations, R&D consortia, public entities and educational institutions.
GBI has devised a set of objectives for the incubator to meet these goals, and address the key barriers to small business success and technology commercialization, as mentioned above. These objectives are clear and measurable, allowing our management team to evaluate the success of the incubator and its tenants. Specifically, the incubator is designed to facilitate the rapid deployment of best practices, processes and technologies in the support of marketing technology products and services to the global marketplace.
The Objectives:
1. Providing assistance critical to the survival of social service and technology client firms during their start-up phase, thereby facilitating development of client firms into financially viable, on-going business enterprises in the reasonable near term.
2. Facilitating commercial application of research & technology into markets.
3. Fostering partnerships between educational institutions, entrepreneurs, public and private organizations, and small high-technology businesses for facilitating commercial application of systems and procedures developed.
4. Establishing a business incubator that is self-sustaining, independent of any outside funding.
5. Making opportunities available on a nationwide basis for U.S. entities to participate in the incubator as a service provider, client firm, and providers of services/products.
A successful business incubator is one that provides support services critical to the survival of small businesses during their start-up phase. It also facilitates their development into financially viable businesses, thereby creating jobs, increasing the tax base and strengthening the business community.
The incubator will accomplish this goal by providing linkages, technology, shared resources and information in an open system that allows small businesses to compete at a fraction of the cost. The incubator will also be virtually distributed in order for accessibility with geographic locations based on city / town participation.
The overall outcome is based on community redevelopment, committed to restoring economic prominence, creating jobs, bolstering the tax base and sparking the revitalization of the city community.
